Manager Av Integrator information

What is a Manager AV Integrator?

Manager AV Integrators are professionals responsible for overseeing the planning, installation, and maintenance of audio-visual (AV) systems in various environments such as corporate offices, schools, or entertainment venues. They manage teams of technicians, coordinate with clients to understand their AV needs, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Their role also involves troubleshooting technical issues and staying up-to-date with the latest AV technologies. Effective communication, technical expertise, and strong project management skills are essential for success in this position.

What are some common challenges a Manager AV Integrator faces when coordinating large-scale AV installation projects?

A Manager AV Integrator often encounters challenges such as aligning project timelines with client expectations, coordinating between multiple stakeholders (including vendors, clients, and in-house teams), and ensuring that all technical specifications are met within budget constraints. Additionally, unforeseen site conditions or last-minute changes can require quick problem-solving and adaptability. Effective communication, meticulous planning, and strong leadership skills are essential to navigate these complexities and deliver successful AV projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Manager AV Integrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Manager AV Integrator, you need expertise in audiovisual systems, project management, and a background in engineering or a related technical field, often supported by certifications like CTS or PMP. Familiarity with AV design software (e.g., AutoCAD), control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX), and enterprise-level integration platforms is essential. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and client communication skills help you effectively manage teams and projects. These skills are crucial for ensuring seamless AV solutions, meeting client expectations, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Job description

Company Overview

We are partnering with a premier residential technology integration firm that has built its reputation on a true “customer-first” philosophy. This company prioritizes long-term client relationships, exceptional craftsmanship, and doing what’s right for the customer over simply maximizing profit. Their team is made up of professionals who genuinely care about one another, collaborate openly, and take pride in delivering high-performance smart home experiences the right way.

From lighting control and shading systems to whole-home automation and AV integration, this company is known for delivering thoughtful solutions while maintaining a strong culture rooted in teamwork, humility, and integrity.

Why Join Us?A Team-First Culture

This is an environment where teammates genuinely support one another. Leadership invests in training, development, and making sure employees have the tools they need to succeed. Ego-driven personalities don’t thrive here—collaboration does.

True Work-Life Balance

The field team works a 4x10 schedule, giving employees a consistent three-day weekend every week. Overtime is the exception, not the expectation, because leadership understands that life outside of work matters.

Growth & Stability

This is a growing integration company with long-term vision and strong leadership. As the business expands, there will be opportunities for advancement into higher-level technical or leadership roles for those who want to grow their careers.

Training & Team Engagement

The company hosts monthly “TNT” (Training & Togetherness) days that combine hands-on training with team-building events and outings. The culture encourages mentorship, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead AV Technician who can confidently take ownership of residential integration projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on field role for someone who enjoys both the technical and physical aspects of installation—not someone looking to transition into a desk-only role.

The ideal candidate is a highly capable technician with strong programming aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead by example in the field. This individual will serve as the lead technician on-site, mentor junior technicians, and help elevate the entire team through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

This role primarily supports high-end residential new construction projects with some retrofit work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Residential AV Installations

  • Execute projects from pre-wire through final programming and client handoff
  • Install, troubleshoot, configure, and commission integrated AV and automation systems
  • Build and terminate racks, trim systems, install devices, and perform final system testing

Programming & System Integration

  • Configure and support systems including:
  • Lutron
  • Crestron Home
  • Control4
  • Josh.ai
  • Additional smart home ecosystems as needed

Lighting & Shading Systems

  • Install and support lighting control and motorized shading systems
  • Experience with Lutron, Hunter Douglas, or Draper shades is highly valued

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead small field crews and work collaboratively with junior technicians
  • Share knowledge openly and help train less-experienced team members
  • Foster a team-oriented environment focused on collective success

Client Interaction

  • Serve as the primary field contact for homeowners and builders
  • Communicate professionally and confidently on-site
  • Ensure a clean, polished, and high-quality customer experience

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a lead technician in residential AV or smart home integration
  • Strong understanding of at least one major control or automation platform
  • Ability to manage projects independently in the field
  • Experience reading plans, troubleshooting systems, and completing projects start-to-finish
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable performing physical installation work including crawl spaces, ladders, and job-site environments
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
  • Lutron lighting and shading systems
  • Crestron Home
  • Control4
  • Josh.ai
  • Experience mentoring or training junior technicians
  • Residential new construction experience
  • Rack building and system commissioning experience

Compensation

  • $35–$41/hour depending on experience and expertise

Benefits

  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Company Holidays
  • Monthly Training Days
  • Company Vehicle Provided During Work Hours
  • Relocation Assistance Available for the Right Candidate
