Job description

Davis Audio Visual is hiring a Director of Audio Visual to run AV sales and operations for up to three hotel and venues in the Park City or Salt Lake City area. You will be the single point of responsibility for a property’s event technology: you quote the work, deliver the shows, own the invoicing, and maintain the day-to-day client relationship that keeps the account renewing. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will run the account, and you will be on the floor for the events, with a support team to assist when needed.

This role suits an experienced hotel or venue AV lead ready to own an account end to end: quoting, delivery, client relationship, and revenue for a single property or two to three closely located properties. It is an account-ownership role, not a roving technician position: you stay with your property and own it, rather than running all over town from job to job. Equipment and crew come from our Salt Lake City warehouse, which you coordinate with the warehouse leaders.

Hours will typically be 7am to 3pm, but the event calendar drives the work, so expect evenings and weekends depending on the schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full account cycle (quoting, delivery, invoicing, and the day-to-day client relationship) for one to three hotels or venues.
  • Prepare accurate, profitable quotes, and grow the account by identifying upsell opportunities and hitting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Serve as the on-site face of Davis Audio Visual and the property’s single point of contact for AV. Attend venue meetings as needed (hotel/venue staff meetings, pre- and post-conferences, etc.).
  • Lead event execution: set, in event changes, and strike for audio, video, lighting and staging.
  • Meet with clients on-site to confirm their needs are met and the equipment is working properly.
  • Own invoicing accuracy by reconciling what was quoted, delivered, and billed.
  • Coordinate equipment and crew from the Salt Lake City warehouse, and keep assigned gear and assigned vehicle event-ready through routine preventative maintenance.
  • Train and mentor technicians on hotel/venue-specific details and general AV skills.
  • Uphold the hotel/venue’s brand standards that drive repeat events.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years overseeing AV for corporate events at a hotel or event venue.
  • Experience quoting events and owning account revenue or a book of business.
  • Knowledge of AV signal flow.
  • Experience leading workflow and team members.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time, salaried.
  • Typically daytime hours (around 7am to 3pm), with evening and weekend work as events require.
  • Pay: base salary plus monthly commission based on account performance.
  • Benefits: paid time off and sick leave.

Preferred, Not Required

  • Prior experience as a Director of AV, Director of Event Technology, or AV Manager at a hotel or venue.
  • Certification in AV technology or related coursework.
  • Familiarity with luxury or resort hospitality environments.

Why Work at Davis Audio Visual

  • Own up to three hotel/venue accounts end to end, a director-level role with real revenue ownership.
  • Work directly with the Owner, with real ownership of your accounts and no management layers between you and decisions.
  • Represent Davis Audio Visual in a high-end venue environments on corporate live events.
  • Draw on an established Salt Lake City warehouse operation and an experienced AV team behind you.
  • Grow your scope and your earnings as you grow your accounts.
