The job of Supervisor, IT Support and IT Project Management is done for the purpose/s of planning, organizing, and supervising assigned crews or individual personnel in the Technology Support department engaged in technology support, help desk functions, deployment of devices, repair of devices, managing support systems and related activities of school technology equipment and devices; providing information to others; and scheduling work assignments within established timeframes and standards.
Essential Functions
 


  • Attends meetings as assigned (e.g. staff meetings, workshops, and seminars, etc.) for the purpose of participating and conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Assists the Director of Technology with Support Team related tasks, meetings, planning, projects, budget, training, and communications.
  • Interacts directly with team members within the district sites, ensuring timely completion of support needs, training, mentorship, cleanliness of office and network room spaces.
  • Routinely visits district sites, meeting with school administrators and support team members, to ensure all related Technology needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with administrators, personnel, and outside organizations and generally represents all technology support needs/interests with the district for the purpose of coordinating activities, resolving issues and conflicts, and exchanging information.
  • Coordinates trainings of assigned support personnel in safe and efficient school tech support work methods and practices, and appropriate care and use of technology systems for the purpose of ensuring proper performance of duties.
  • Evaluates programs and/or projects for the purpose of carrying out and achieving objectives within area of responsibility.
  • Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related assigned technology systems and activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices and policies are followed.
  • Oversees departmental and interdepartmental teams for the purpose of establishing and operating technology systems related to needed tech functions.
  • Oversees workload of department for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force, satisfaction of the customers, and meeting operational requirements.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. work order reports, inventory control, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's goals and objectives.
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. new technologies, current practices, industry standards, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs and/or services, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements, securing general information for planning, taking appropriate actions, and/or responding to requests.
  • Responds to emergency situations during and after hours (e.g. weekends, etc.) for the purpose of resolving connectivity concerns to address the efficient operation of schools.
  • Supervises department functions including hiring, termination recommendations, planning, scheduling, coordinating activities, advertising, training, interviewing advising, and consulting for the purpose of ensuring that the department functions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
