Job description

IT Project Manager

The Information Systems department provides technology support to all Utah County government agencies. This support includes acquisition, deployment and management of computer-based workstations, software applications, local and wide-area network infrastructure, security, and information use policy.

This IS NOT a remote position and requires on-site presence at our physical office location during regular business hours.

The Opportunity:

Under general guidance and supervision of the IT Project Management Team Supervisor, coordinates customer communication, planning, and implementation of client projects within the established budget, timeline, and scope. Monitors and presents project updates to stakeholders, clients, and team members.

Starting Pay: Grade 728 $84,468.80 - $97,136.00 Annually

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Information Systems technology.
  • Demonstratable work competence in project management, computer programming, or business administration.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and demonstrated work competence may also be considered.

Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:

  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience as a project lead or team lead.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience managing several projects at once with competing priorities.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience delivering consumer software products.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with Project Management Institute (PMI) or Scrum Master Certification.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Selected applicants must obtain and maintain a project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, Certified Scrum Master, or International Association of Project Managers (IAPM) within one (1) year in position. 2. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment. 3. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Due to potential access to sensitive and protected data, this position is subject to additional criminal background checks as directed by the Information Systems Department.
