Position Summary:
The Manager of Audio/Visual Technology Support is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and operational support of the Audio-Visual Technologies team within Information Technology. This position oversees the delivery, support, and maintenance of college audio-visual systems and provides tactical project coordination for AV-related construction, renovation, and reconfiguration initiatives. The Manager leads staff, coordinates vendors, and ensures reliable AV services for instructional spaces, events, and administrative needs. This role requires the ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Manage and supervise Audio-Visual Technologies staff, including work assignment, training, performance evaluation, and day-to-day operational oversight.
2. Coordinate AV support and services for classrooms, meeting spaces, special events, and other approved College activities.
3. Provide project coordination support for AV-related construction, renovation, or reconfiguration projects, including scheduling, communication, and task tracking.
4. Assist with the specification, design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, and operational support of audio-visual systems.
5. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and support audio-visual technology needs.
6. Maintain and update technical documentation, project documentation, and user support materials.
7. Monitor AV equipment lifecycle needs and recommend replacements or upgrades based on operational requirements and system performance.
8. Oversee the coordination of vendors and service providers for equipment purchases, installations, and maintenance support.
9. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and escalation support for complex AV system issues.
10. Stay current on emerging trends and best practices in instructional and administrative audio-visual technologies.
11. Assist with budget tracking and resource planning for audio-visual technologies.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Three (3) to five (5) years of audio-visual technology support experience.
3. Experience coordinating or supporting AV-related projects.
4. Experience supervising or leading technical staff.
Desired Qualifications
1. AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
2. Extron Certified Control Specialist.
3. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AV systems in instructional or enterprise environments.
4. Experience supporting AV technology in higher education.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a service-oriented environment.
6. Strong customer service and communication skills.
7. Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues independently.
8. Knowledge and awareness of current trends and issues in instructional technology and
higher education.
