Job description

We are seeking a reasoned engineering leader in the area of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Platforms to lead the development and management of our comprehensive suite of tools and services to support the entire lifecycle of AI/ML projects. This role is critical for enabling our internal researchers to bring to bear very large-scale systems for training foundational models with flexibility and efficiency.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the strategic direction, development, and continuous improvement of the AI/ML platform, ensuring it meets the needs of internal researchers for large-scale model training and deployment.

  • Optimize efficiency and resilience of different stages of ML workflow, including data ingestion, preprocessing, check-pointing, model training, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Work closely with various internal teams, including data scientists, researchers, and IT, to understand their needs and ensure the platform provides the necessary tools and resources.

  • Drive innovation and efficiency within the platform, exploring and implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance the capabilities and performance of the AI/ML ecosystem.

  • Maintain a strong customer focus, ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of its users and delivers high value.

What we need to see:

  • 12+ overall years of experience in AI/ML infrastructure, with a proven track record of managing large-scale AI/ML projects and platforms.

  • 6+ years of experience leading a highly technical, and collaborative team.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML lifecycle management, high-performance computing, niche hardware, storage and networking.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading multi-functional teams and leading sophisticated projects.

  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic vision for the AI/ML platform, aligning it with the needs of the organization and its researchers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 272,000 USD - 431,250 USD for Level 4, and 320,000 USD - 488,750 USD for Level 5.
