Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect - Hybrid for a 3+ month contract to hire position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH, Minneapolis, MN, or Chicago, IL. Compensation: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: We are seeking an Application Architect to support the Enterprise Payments and Treasury Management organization, with a primary focus on the ACH platform. This role is responsible for defining application-level architecture and guiding strategic solutions supporting high-volume, batch-driven payment processing across mainframe and distributed environments. As a technical leader, the Application Architect partners with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to design secure, resilient, and highly integrated payment solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and maintain application-level architecture for ACH/PEP+ platform, aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and target-state direction Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs, including application components, integrations, batch workflows, and data flows Define and apply architecture principles and patterns to support scalability, resiliency, performance, and maintainability in high-volume ACH environments Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams throughout the design and implementation lifecycle Participate in solution modeling, component identification, and architecture and design reviews Develop and maintain application roadmaps supporting evolution from current to future state Identify architectural risks, gaps, and technical debt, recommending remediation strategies Partner with Solution Architects, Infrastructure, Operations, and interfacing application teams to ensure alignment across dependencies Participate in architecture governance and review forums as required Primary Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience across multiple IT disciplines, including experience in at least two of the following: application architecture, application development, middleware or integration technologies, database management or operations Experience supporting enterprise applications in mainframe or hybrid environments Desired Skills: Experience supporting ACH, PEP+, or Treasury Management payment platforms Experience with batch processing, file-based integrations, and enterprise service calls Familiarity with DB2, CICS, REST APIs, and z/OS Connect Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments Strong written and verbal communication skills Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
