Reports To

The Care Manager/Admin will report to the Assisted Living Director/Memory Care Director.  This position is non-exempt, hourly.

Classified Title: Caregiver / Admin

Full-Time: $19-23/hr.

Job Overview

Assists residents in all aspects of their daily life as indicated in the resident's care plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activities as well as provide administrative duties such as staffing scheduling, phone call assistance, scheduling appointments and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with self-administration of prescribed medication to resident and maintain related medical records, by way of queuing, prompting, and/or reminding; under the supervision of the RN and/or LPN.
  • Provide resident care to residents that include bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, as outlined in their care plan
  • Respects the needs of team members and residents by adhering to schedule and documenting attendance properly.
  • Maintain the safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality of all residents
  • Encourages and escorts (when needed) residents to meals and activities
  • Ensures all assigned residents are clean, neatly dressed, groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shifts
  • Monitors and reports any change of condition in a resident immediately to your supervisor
  • Appropriately utilizes and keeps electronic documentation "devices" safe and secure within the community; efficiently documents care/services provided during the shift.
  • Participates in and attends all in-service trainings as scheduled
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
  • Provides basic housekeeping and/or laundry services when needed
  • May be asked to obtain weights and vitals of residents and document same per RN request
  • Perform and oversee staffing scheduling
  • Assist with phone calls to families, physicians and others as needed
  • Schedule appointments for residents as directed from the nursing staff
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, RN, and/or ED

    Physical Abilities

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
    • An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
      Qualifications

      Qualifications

      • High School Diploma or GED.  At least 1 year resident care experience required.
      • Certified Nursing Assistant or Caregiver experience
      • Knowledge and experience in working with the elderly population
