Job description

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a leading national hotel management company based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking individuals who are interested in kick starting their career in the hospitality space and being a part of our 12-month, Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP). Our Leadership Development Program has been meticulously designed to nurture and develop well-rounded leaders by providing opportunities to work alongside experienced managers and executives, both on property and at corporate.

MLDP participants should emerge well-equipped for roles in hotel leadership across a broad spectrum of specialties and departments. This program will focus on professional and personal growth by building upon previous experience, any formal education or training and an individual's innate skills. After completion of the program, participants will be placed at one of our properties. The Marcus Leadership Development Program is a full-time, paid development program.

There's no better time to join us as the Hilton Milwaukee is just completing a $40 million renovation. This extensive transformation elevated our guest rooms, event spaces, and grand lobby to reflect a new era of modern elegance. Connected to the newly expanded Baird Center, the Hilton Milwaukee is not only the city's largest hotel but also a historic gem. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, we offer 554 beautifully appointed guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Our commitment to innovation, exceptional service, and timeless style ensures our continued reputation as Milwaukee's premier meeting and convention destination. If you're passionate about hospitality and ready to make a lasting impact, we invite you to become part of our team and shape the future of the Hilton Milwaukee.

What you will be doing:

  • Follow a structured rotation of assignments throughout the majority of departments on property to learn and understand the dynamic operations of the specific location and hospitality industry as a whole

  • Adhere to an established curriculum designed to develop leadership skills, business acumen, and a better understanding of operational standards

  • Participate in management and staff meetings while you collaborate across departments and professional disciplines

  • Develop in depth and regular rapport with guests, associates, and both corporate and property based leadership

  • Opportunities for project work and task force assignments in your assigned and other locations

What we are looking for:

  • Currently enrolled or have a degree from a college, university, 2 or 4 year program in hotel, restaurant, hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, etc. OR comparable industry experience and training

  • Must be open to relocation for program placement and following completion, should also be open to task force work assignments and opportunities

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner

  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical, and written communication skills

  • Desire to learn and contribute in a team-based environment

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and detail oriented

  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry

What's in it for you?

  • Opportunity to work through a structured rotational program that allows you to learn about the industry and organization while you learn about and develop your own strengths and interests

  • Placement after the successful completion of the program and long-term advancement opportunities across the company and U.S.

  • Relocation assistance including temporary housing upon arrival for up to 30 days.

  • Hotel and movie theatre discounts at Marcus properties and Marcus Movie Theatres

  • Golf, Ski, Restaurant & Spa discounts

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after one month of employment

  • Eligibility for 401K participation, with company match, following one month of employment

  • Paid Time Off accrual immediately

  • And more!
