Job description

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment. The intern will support Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) initiatives focused on enhancing employee learning and development through technology. Working closely with HRIS, Learning & Development, and business stakeholders, the intern will assist with the implementation of Mountaire's Oracle Learning initiative, helping to improve the employee learning experience and support organizational development goals. The intern may also contribute to a Journeys-related project designed to improve employee onboarding, engagement, and career development processes. Through research, testing, documentation, and process improvement activities, the intern will gain hands-on experience with enterprise HR technology and learning management systems.                    

Project Highlights

  • Support the Oracle Learning initiative by assisting with system configuration, testing, validation, and process documentation activities.
  • Analyze business requirements and user feedback to identify opportunities for improved learning administration and employee experience.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials, job aids, and end-user documentation to support system adoption.
  • Contribute to HRIS process improvement initiatives that enhance data accuracy, system efficiency, and user experience.
  • Gain exposure to enterprise HR technology, learning management systems, and digital employee experience programs while supporting Mountaire's long-term talent development strategy.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university (Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Business, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.).
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Interest in HR technology, learning and development, employee experience, and business process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information and recommend improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Internship Program Requirements

  • Complete assigned project identified by department mentor
  • Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities
  • All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 2 - 6, 2027)
  • All interns are required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 2-6. 
  • All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)
  • Anticipated weekly schedule for this internship is M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
