MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER
Full-time (Hybrid)
Location: San Jose, CA
 
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) in the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the U.S., spanning 47 counties in mid-California and Nevada. PPMM invests in communities by providing health care and education, and by expanding rights and access for all.

The Opportunity 
As a Major Gifts Officer, you will play a central role in shaping and advancing PPMM’s major gift program for both our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations within your assigned region. You will manage and grow relationships with donors capable of giving $10,000–$100,000+, serving as a strategic partner, storyteller, and steward. This position offers:

  • Collaboration with leadership, volunteers, and a seasoned Development Team 
  • Missioncritical impact at a pivotal moment for reproductive rights 
        What You’ll Do 
        • Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors and prospects. 
        • Develop and execute regional fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and best practices in moves management. 
        • Build and manage a portfolio of major donors with care, intention, and longterm vision. 
        • Create individualized engagement and solicitation strategies that connect donor values to organizational priorities. 
        • Represent PPMM to influential donors, community leaders, and public audiences as a senior fundraiser. 
        • Partner with leadership and volunteers on meaningful donor engagement opportunities and solicitations. 
        • Ensure exceptional stewardship, including timely acknowledgment, impact reporting, and recognition. 
        • Track donor activity and progress using fundraising software and contribute to thoughtful goalsetting, forecasting, and reporting. 
        • Plan donor meetings and cultivation events with support from the Development Team.

        What We’re Looking For 
        Required: 
        • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
        • Fundraising experience, including success in individual and/or major gifts 
        • Strong relationshipbuilding skills with donors, volunteers, and community partners 
        • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking abilities 
        • Knowledge of professional fundraising practices and donor engagement strategies 
        • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced, evolving environment 
        • Familiarity with fundraising databases and CRM systems 
                    Preferred: 
                    • Experience recruiting or managing fundraising volunteers 
                    • Background in complex or missiondriven organizations 
                    • Creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
