Position Summary:
The Packaging & Forming Line Mechanic is responsible for supporting production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment reliability and performance. This hands-on role supports forming, wrapping, and cartoning equipment and works closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to maximize uptime, efficiency, safety, and product quality. Line Mechanic serves as the equipment expert and primary resource for keeping production lines operating effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Equipment Support & Troubleshooting
• Respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and operational equipment problems.
• Perform machine adjustments and repairs.
• Support production startups and product changeovers.
Preventive Maintenance
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
• Identify and address potential equipment issues before they result in downtime.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Documentation & CMMS
• Create, update, and close work orders within the CMMS system.
• Document repairs, labor, parts usage, and equipment adjustments.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records to support reliability and inventory management efforts.
Continuous Improvement
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment performance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Assist in developing and maintaining best practices and standard operating procedures.
Operator Support & Training
• Assist operators with machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Train employees on proper equipment operation and care.
• Promote and model safe work practices and food safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
