Job description

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for maintaining high standards in property management? VTrips, a leading name in vacation rentals, is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team. This position is essential for ensuring our properties remain in excellent condition, providing an outstanding experience for our guests.
Essential Functions:
  • Complete all maintenance service requests as assigned.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance services.
  • Conduct minor repairs of plumbing systems, cabinetry, minor electrical work, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Install and repair locks, including electronic and Wi-Fi entry systems.
  • Troubleshoot wireless computer systems, Wi-Fi, cable television wiring, and remote systems.
  • Operate and maintain power tools, hand-held equipment, and a potentially fleet vehicle.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Complete all scheduled and assigned work orders/tasks following the Sundown Rule.
  • Perform and complete a minimum of two preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date notes for assigned work orders, including pictures and invoices.
  • Perform required fleet vehicle inspections using Fleetio vehicle inspections as required.
  • Conduct minor repairs of plumbing systems, cabinetry, minor electrical work, and HVAC systems.
  • Install and repair locks, including electronic and Wi-Fi entry systems.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Weekly Responsibilities:
  • Audit inventory and stock items in the vehicle.
  • Update all assigned work orders to correspond with expected completion dates.
  • Submit invoices/receipts via Paylocity to stay current for the monthly expense report.
  • Provide a weekly update to the Director of Operations (DOO) on Preventative Maintenance inspections.

Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fleet vehicle inventory inspections and audits with the Director of Operations (DOO).
  • Attend end-of-month recap meetings with the DOO to evaluate work orders, preventative maintenance, and billable.

Ongoing Responsibilities:
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all maintenance services offered by VTrips Management Agreement.
  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of basic maintenance concerns, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, Wi-Fi, and HVAC.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by assisting other Operations Team Members as needed to accomplish shared goals.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Physical Demands: The Maintenance Technician must be able to sit for 20% of the time and walk or stand for 80% of the time. They should also be able to stoop, bend, stretch, twist, and reach. The ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs is required. Specific vision abilities are also required for this role.
  • Mental Demands: The Maintenance Technician should have organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and problem-solving skills.
  • Environmental: The Maintenance Technician will be regularly exposed to the elements and may experience a moderate to heavy noise level when the equipment is operating.
