Maintenance Director
Santa Maria Post Acute, Santa Maria, CA


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Santa Maria Post Acute, a 55-bed skilled nursing facility located in Santa Maria, CA. As the Maintenance Director, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance operation of our facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform overall supervision of the Maintenance Department, including \"hands-on\" performance of maintenance and repair work

  • Maintain the building in good repair and free of hazards, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws

  • Maintain required records and reports, and participate in budget planning for the Maintenance Department

  • Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed, and orient and instruct maintenance personnel

  • Participate in and plan in-service programs, and attend Department Head Meetings and sit on required committees

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and provide orientation for all employees of the Maintenance Department


Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems

  • Supervisory experience is also required for this position

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language

  • Strong organizational skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well with others

  • Knowledge of budget preparation process, and ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
