Summary

To maintain the facility areas in good repair and ensure an attractive and well-maintained facility. These assignments relate to a variety of trades that include but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting and wall covering.

Essential Functions

Required Skills/ Abilities

  • Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience is used frequently on the job
  • Repair, touch up or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, move furniture, wall covering, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous repairs.
  • General maintenance work
  • Do garden/yard upkeep by moving lawn, collecting trash etc.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and system (e.g. ventilation)

Responsibility/ Activities

  • Empty wastepaper basket and ashtrays in outside areas
  • Transport trash to waste disposal equipment
  • Dust and polish wooden surface and furniture
  • Replenish the bathroom
  • Inspect residents room prior to move in
  • Clean the rooms, lounges, lobby, bathrooms and hallways
  • Vacuum and wash carpets and rugs
  • May be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
