Contract role
Summary
Support modernization initiatives by analyzing mainframe systems and implementing migration strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct application assessments and identify modernization opportunities.
• Execute code conversion and integration with modern platforms.
• Collaborate with architects and delivery teams for smooth transition.
• Prepare technical documentation, estimate, and assist in testing phases.
• Mentor consultants and oversee technical execution.
Required Skills
• Expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, VSAM, Assembler.
• Knowledge of modernization frameworks and tools (Micro Focus, BluAge, Heirloom) including AI/GenAI based tooling/use case.
• Exposure to APIs, microservices, and cloud integration (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Should have executed at least one (1) mainframe modernization assessment and one (1) mainframe modernization program
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience
10+ years in mainframe systems and 3+ years in modernization projects.
