Job Description
The Business Analyst will support a large-scale mainframe exit initiative within a financial services environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, highly regulated settings and can translate legacy processes into modern, efficient, and well documented workflows. The analyst will work across business, operations, and technology teams to understand current state processes tied to mainframe systems and help define the future state landscape as the organization transitions to modern platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and document end to end business processes currently supported by mainframe applications, including financial operations, transaction processing, reporting, and compliance workflows.
•Conduct process reverse engineering to uncover undocumented logic embedded in legacy systems.
•Review existing procedural documents, technical artifacts, and system flow diagrams to build a comprehensive understanding of current state operations.
•Facilitate interviews with SMEs, operations teams, and technology partners to validate process details and identify gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
•Serve as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and project leadership.
•Communicate complex process details and system behaviors in clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Present findings, documentation, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
