Summary

The employee in this position is responsible for sorting, processing and/or delivery of mail 


Responsibilities

  •  Sorts incoming mail within specific expectations 
  •  Distributes sorted documents to proper departments for processing 
  •  Records incoming accountable mail pieces received for receipt signature 
  •  Performs mail delivery tasks 
  •  Operates postal mailing equipment as required
  •  Operates Mail Inserter to fold and insert mailing projects as required
  •  Prints, folds and inserts special projects as required. 
  •  Sorts all incoming checks as per client SOP
  •  Manages stamp sales and postal service client requests at service window 
  •  Maintains postal supplies 
  •  Ensures the delivery of packages in a timely manner in coordination with shipping and receiving
  •  Adheres to the Standards of Excellence 
  •  Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Account Manager 
  •  Monitors and listens to clients to understand inquiries and requests to provide accurate information about the facilities and services and prompt assistance

 Qualifications

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent 
  •  Knowledge of mail room environment preferred 
  •  Exhibit strong Customer Service skills 
  •  Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to operate mail equipment 
  •  Minimum of intermediate computer skills and Microsoft EXCEL knowledge 
  •  Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required 
  •  Ability to be personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional in presenting oneself in a professional setting 
  •  Ability to learn skills quickly and thoroughly 
  •  Ability to multi-task 
  •  Attention to detail 
  •  Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling any complaints/situations

  • Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.) or mail processing equipment 
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects 
  • The ability to lift approximately 25lbs. daily
