Job Description
As an Estimator, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring accurate and timely cost-based estimates. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in all direct mail processes; including offset printing, digital printing, bindery and lettershop as well as a working knowledge of creative and digital estimating.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely, accurate and detailed cost estimates and other calculations for integrated marketing campaigns.
  • A professional-level understanding and proficiency across all aspects of direct mail including printing, lettershop operations, and the USPS DMM.
  • Analyze job requirements to ensure the most cost effective method of production.
  • Collaborate with various departments and account teams to determine scope of work and agree to approach and timing of deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain rate cards; provide cost analyses, P&L job reporting, budget tracking and assist with other estimating or accounting-related projects as needed.
  • Create and submit purchase orders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Review and approve proposals, charge orders, invoices and RFP documentation.
  • Prioritize, organize and maintain estimates and all related documentation in estimating system.
  • Explore opportunities for production efficiencies; develop and follow established pricing procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
  • Candidate Requirements:
  • 7+ years' direct mail estimating experience including knowledge of offset printing (web, sheet-fed) inline finishing operations; litho, flexo and digital printing processes. Four-color variable inkjet experience, a plus.
  • 7+ years' mailing services experience including lettershop services, postal operations, and mail logistics.
  • Extensive pre-press and printing knowledge including variable data printing.
  • Demonstrated success developing pricing strategies and competitive pricing models.
  • Knowledge of data list purchasing.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent math, analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expert in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
