Job description

Responsible for developing and managing a strategically aligned federal business development pipeline in support of Magellan Federal's health, readiness, and workforce support mission areas. Leads opportunities from initial identification through qualification, working closely with capture management to assess opportunity fit, strategy, and next steps. Identifies current and emerging client requirements, market trends, and competitive dynamics to position Magellan Federal for sustainable growth. Collaborates across internal functional teams to develop qualification artifacts, supports capture and proposal efforts, and provides guidance and mentoring to business development staff. Strong internal, client, and industry partner relationships are essential to success in this role.
  • Develops and executes federal account strategies aligned with Magellan Federal's strategic goals, capabilities, client needs, market trends, and competitive environment to achieve assigned growth targets. (25%)

  • Manages the federal business development pipeline in accordance with standard operating procedures, including opportunity identification, qualification, documentation, and lifecycle tracking. (25%)

  • Mentors and develops less experienced business development personnel and supports continuous improvement, audits, and compliance related to business development tools, processes, and governance. (20%)

  • Develops and presents Identification and Qualification gate reviews, equipping leadership with strategic, technical, competitive, and pricing insights needed to make informed decisions to advance opportunities through the business development lifecycle. (15%)

  • Supports capture and proposal managers throughout capture and proposal phases, contributing to solution development, teaming strategies, and pricing approaches. (15%)

Responsibilities

10+ years of business development experience supporting federal health, readiness, or workforce programs, including work in behavioral health, mental health, counseling, human performance, transition assistance, or related support services for military personnel, veterans, federal civilians, and their families. Experience may be gained through clinical or behavioral health-focused programs, or through mission readiness, human performance, transition, or workforce support initiatives, provided the candidate demonstrates strong federal acquisition knowledge and agency engagement.
Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences or related field.
Established professional relationships within federal civilian or defense agencies and industry partners relevant to health, readiness, or workforce support programs.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, consultants, industry partners, and client stakeholders to drive revenue growth.
Ability to develop and deliver executivelevel presentations on business development strategy, pipeline, and execution.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding business development performance targets, including revenue growth objectives.
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
