Job Overview
The Media Sales Specialist will work directly with recognized brands, agencies, and vendor partners to secure advertising revenue and establish themselves as a trusted resource for clients. The Specialist manages their own accounts and collaborates with Sales Leads to support larger accounts. They are responsible for developing sales-related materials including presentations, RFPs, custom proposals, etc. Seeking input from cross-functional teams (including Media, Analytics, Product, and Finance) as required, the Specialist ensures the team's main objective of maximizing sales revenues while ensuring utmost client satisfaction is met. This presents a unique opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment while benefiting from the resources, organizational support, and existing vendor relationships of an industry leader.
What You Will Do
  • Contribute to building a pipeline of prospective accounts by identifying and nurturing leads.
  • Cultivate relationships to expand and develop client accounts.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to create sales collateral, presentations, project plans, and account setup information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., media planning, operations, analytics) to devise marketing strategies for both on-site and off-site initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by promptly responding to requests and ensuring availability for follow-up questions.
  • Analyze campaign results to identify opportunities for enhancing client satisfaction and performance.
  • Listen actively to advertisers' needs and generate innovative ideas to enhance and optimize the offerings of Macy's Media Network, feeding insights to the product development team.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills You Will Need
Sales and Negotiation: Proven ability to secure advertising revenue and build strong relationships with recognized brands, agencies, and vendor partners.
Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills, including prompt responsiveness to client requests and thorough follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze campaign results and identify opportunities for enhancing client satisfaction and performance, demonstrating a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Online Advertising Expertise: Deep knowledge of the online advertising space, including exchange and audience-based selling, with experience in retail media highly desired.
Communication and Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, essential for effectively conveying ideas and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management: Experience managing multiple stakeholders, such as vendors, marketing agencies, and media owners, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure project success and alignment with objectives.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in marketing activities, including the development of sales collateral, presentations, reports, and project plans, to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
Who You Are
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 3-5 years of ad sales experience for on- and off-site media, including selling into agencies.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
