About the Role

Turn customer demand into executable production plans, keep materials available, and help a growing manufacturing operation improve delivery and inventory performance.

As a Senior Production Planner / Buyer, you will lead production and materials planning for MacLean-Fogg’s Plastic Solutions operation in Menomonee Falls. You will coordinate production schedules, inventory, material requirements, suppliers, and purchasing activities to support customer commitments and operational performance.

This position is primarily focused on production and materials planning, with purchasing responsibilities that support supply continuity and material flow. You will work closely with Operations, Customer Service, suppliers, and other cross-functional partners to anticipate constraints, resolve shortages, and make informed planning decisions.

The role offers broad exposure to planning, purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing operations, creating a strong foundation for future materials or supply chain leadership opportunities.

What You Will Do
  • Lead production and materials planning activities to support customer delivery and operational performance

  • Translate customer demand, forecasts, inventory, and operational requirements into executable production plans

  • Maintain and adjust production schedules based on material availability, priorities, capacity, and changing business needs

  • Monitor raw-material, component, work-in-process, and finished-goods inventory

  • Identify material shortages, schedule risks, and supply constraints before they disrupt production

  • Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, suppliers, and other partners to resolve planning and delivery concerns

  • Manage purchase orders, supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and related purchasing activities

  • Communicate priorities, shortages, schedule changes, and recovery plans clearly to affected stakeholders

  • Analyze planning, inventory, supplier, and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Support Sales and Operations Planning activities and related forecasting discussions

  • Build productive supplier relationships that support quality, delivery, responsiveness, and continuity

  • Improve planning accuracy, inventory performance, material flow, and supply chain processes

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning, purchasing, and manufacturing operations

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • At least four years of progressive manufacturing production planning, materials planning, inventory, or related supply chain experience

  • Experience developing or managing production schedules in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, materials planning, forecasting, inventory control, and supply chain execution

  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems to manage schedules, inventory, and material requirements

  • Experience supporting purchasing activities, supplier communication, purchase orders, and delivery schedules

  • Ability to analyze data, balance competing priorities, and make sound operational decisions

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Customer Service, suppliers, and other functions

  • Ability to work onsite in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Preferred Qualifications
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or another relevant supply chain certification

  • Experience in automotive, engineered plastics, injection molding, or another high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Experience supporting Sales and Operations Planning

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement

  • Advanced ERP, MRP, planning, or supply chain analytics experience

  • Experience preparing for or progressing toward materials-management leadership
