Job Summary

The function of the Rack/Shop Personnel is to maintain the tubing, on Tubing Department threading racks as required. The Rack/Shop Personnel reports to Manager-Machine Shop-Tubulars and has authority over no other employee.


Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Coordinate with the Machine Shop Supervisor, Machine Operator, Movement Personnel, and the QC Specialist to maintain uninterrupted workflow at each machine station.

2. Remove and/or replace thread protectors as needed.

3. Thoroughly apply rust inhibitor to all threaded connections which have passed QC inspection.

4. Install pin-end protectors before bundling or moving any threaded pipe.

5. Maintain a clean, safe work area.

6. Safe, efficient operation of the overhead hoist to manage tubing on the threading rack.

7. Immediately report to the Machine Shop Supervisor any coolant or machine oils draining onto the ground in the rack area.


Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, or industrial environment preferred

• Ability to safely operate an overhead hoist and handle tubular products

• Knowledge of thread protectors, rust inhibitor application, and pipe handling procedures preferred

• Ability to coordinate effectively with supervisors, machine operators, movement personnel, and quality personnel

• Ability to identify and report equipment malfunctions, fluid leaks, safety hazards, and quality concerns

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety and efficiency

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area

• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future


Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to:

• Lift, move, adjust, push, pull, and carry objects to waist height up to 75 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with assistance

• Frequent standing, occasional sitting, and walking throughout shift and facility
