Job description

Description
Programming of complex manufacturing systems:
  • Create, manage, and prepare CNC G-code programs and macros with the support of IT systems.
  • Create documentation and archive standard machining programs.
  • Continuously develop the integrated CAD/CAM system.
  • Prepare and create 3D data for systems such as Hexagon ESPRIT, Run My Virtual Machine, and SolidWorks.
  • Independent determination of production routes, design of clamping devices, tools and their solicitation of quotations (obtaining, comparing, negotiating on a technical level and granting production approval), document in the IT system, e.g. SAP.
  • Independently organize repairs of defective tools, fixtures and, if necessary, machine parts, select and create fallback technologies
  • Monitor and set lead times and correct deviations.
  • Incorporate new technologies (work with representatives for the field, test, document and integrate)
  • Independently design fixtures.
  • To eliminate problems, consult with specialist departments, VU, service departments of the machine manufacturers
  • Serve as Tool Manager.
  • Program, adjust, and teach robots.
  • Initiate, participate and implement strategic developments in the programming of CNC machines, portals and robots
  • Consultation and coordination with specialist departments such as AV, materials management, quality assurance (QA), maintenance, and shift supervisor.

Projects:
  • Plan and select new machines, production lines and machining centers in coordination with the plant management and prepare them for the investment application.
  • Initial setup/run-in of the CNC program.
  • Carry out preliminary acceptance at the machine manufacturer.
  • Carry out commissioning of new systems.

Other Essential Functions:
  • Monitor machining-related Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), communicate changes to machining employees, and oversee implementation within the machine shop.
  • Provide training and development for employees assigned to the department using Job Instructions (JI).
  • Attend improvement walks.
  • Set up and run CMM machine to quality check production jobs, as needed to support production needs.
  • Work with machinists to resolve technical issues as directed by Supervisor.
  • Work with Maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and tolerances are maintained.
  • Participate in safety & cleanliness (5S) inspections. Participate and contribute to the safety committee.
  • Conduct quality issue analysis using root cause methods (5 Whys). Participate in and contribute to quality meetings and quality teams.
  • Maintain and procure all required assets for department to achieve goals.
  • Complete all standard work procedures.
  • Be an active participant in the company's suggestions, quality, efficiency, and cost-saving programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate (two-year) technical degree is preferred; a bachelor's degree is a plus.
Experience: Five years of machine shop experience required, including experience with CAM software, G-code programming, and machine setup.
Skills and Key Attributes:
Strong programming, turning, and milling skills, with excellent blueprint reading capabilities, including GD&T understanding
Demonstrated common sense and proven decision-making skills
Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to effectively support both internal and external customers.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis and stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day.
