Supplemental Information: Hourly rate of $70 per hour is equivalent to the base rate of $40/hour multiplied by the number of hours per course times 1.75 hours which covers office hours and prep time for instructional activities. Activities conducted outside of teaching (non-instructional), require approval and will be paid at the base hourly rate of $40.

Characteristic Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Associate Dean, to teach conventional machining, CNC machining set-up and operations in a related and laboratory atmosphere; and to provide general support and curriculum assistance to learning activities in related subjects in the area of machine tool operations and programming. Related duties include participation in division and department activities and the performance of other duties as assigned.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsOnly those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.
Required Minimum Education:- Must have completed a Wisconsin Registered Apprenticeship in Machine Tool or Tool & Die OR
- Met Wisconsin State Apprenticeship standards in Machine Tool/Tool & Die
Required Occupational Experience:- Must have 5 years (10,000 hours) of work experience in Machine Tool.
- In addition, one of the following must be met:
- At least one year of experience must have occurred within the past 5 years OR
- Two years of teaching Machine Tool coursework at the post-secondary level within the last 5 years (1 year of teaching experience equivalent to 2 semesters full-time, or 4 semester part-time).

Supplemental InformationStart Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start when needed;
primarily looking for candidates who teach classes during week days.Hours/Location: This in-person position is a .5 FTE and the number of hours worked per week will vary based on course load. Hours and location are based on enrollment and departmental need.
Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.

Employee Benefits at a Glance - PART-TIME FACULTY/EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT- Part-time employees pay a higher percentage of the premium than full-time employees.
HEALTH INSURANCE: MATC offers a choice between two medical insurance plans. See below for plan types:

Note: All medical plans include Prescription Drug benefits at no additional costs to employees.
DENTAL INSURANCE: MATC offers a traditional group dental plan through Delta Dental.
Annual maximum per covered person is $2,500; plan covers preventive, routine, restoration, and orthodontics for dependents up to age 19.
GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE: MATC offers group life insurance benefits through Symetra Provident Insurance with active assignment and is fully paid for by the College. The amount of insurance is $15,000. The benefit is doubled in the event of accidental death.
RETIREMENT BENEFITS: If you are employed for greater than 12 months and meet the minimum hours requirement for participation in the WRS pension system, you will be notified of your eligibility. The College currently pays the full cost of the employer contribution (6.9%), and the employee pays the full part of the employee contribution of 6.9% of salary. There is a five year vesting period requirement in order to qualify for any employer contributions made on the employee's behalf.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLANS: MATC offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in both Health Care and Dependent Care flexible spending accounts administered through UMR.
SICK LEAVE BENEFITS: Sick leave is earned based on one times the weekly workload per semester. The maximum hours accumulation is 640 hours.
VACATION BENEFITS: Vacation is earned based on the length of service and hours worked each pay period. (Not available for Instructors)
