WORK SHIFT:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Metal polisher, you will use metalworking equipment and machinery to polish and buff almost finished metal workpieces to enhance their smoothness and appearance and remove oxidization, which tarnishes the metal after the other fabrication processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Using machinery and abrasive tools, such as wheels and vibratory finishers.
  • Operating polishing equipment, removing imperfections, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Polishing, stainless-steel metal components to clean finishes.
  • Fettling, Grinding, Deburring, Polishing out weld seams.
  • Grinding burs off of metal pieces, inspecting parts, and finishing p[arts using tools and machines.
  • Hold and move metal parts against the sanding and polishing belt.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, dependable, and flexible to potential schedule changes to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Executes each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, can work well with others, is open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone respectfully.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Walking, standing, bending at the neck, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 100 lbs.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
