Job description

POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator DEPARTMENT: Production

POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for assuring efficient and smooth operation of production equipment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Function #1: Review the schedule for specific instructions on the type of bottle, weight, color, and neck fi flamed.

Function #2: At the beginning of the shift, check al safety gates for proper operations.

Function #3: Check the machine to see if the heat is ready, verify that everything down the line is ready, check to see fi grinder is on.

Function #4: Confirm the right materials, color, and the settings on the blender.

Function #5: Start machine, check to see fi the machine is running properly, and produce containers. Check a set of bottles for weight, neck, body; bumpers are in spec., monitor operations down the line. Continually check bottles to ensure they are within specifications.

Function #6: Log all machine adiustments.

Function #7: Keep equipment running by clearing all jams, monitor equipment and materials, check production quality.

Function #8: Log pertinent, process data.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor operations from the grinder to the packer and everything in between. Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties, assist with breaks and lunches, and other duties as assigned.

POSITION MAY ALSO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF: Packer or Utility

DECISION MAKING: fI the Machine Operator cannot fix a problem, notify Process, Supervisor and Quality Control to determine when the problem began.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: Substantial standing, sweeping, or mopping, some lifting of up to 60 lbs., minor bending and climbing.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR RESULTS: Following policy and specifications for products being produced, making sure that product consistently meets quality standards.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL: A high school diploma, minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience: Use of a caliper and weight scale. Experience in operating manufacturing machines and equipment, learn how to adjust equipment to assure production remains within set standards, learn to make weight and profile changes at the programmer.
