Manager, Distribution Center Analytics & Optimization

About the role
The Manager, DC Analytics & Optimization is responsible for driving operational excellence through advanced analytics, process optimization, and technology enablement across a high-volume distribution network. This role combines data science expertise with operational knowledge to identify opportunities that improve productivity, inventory accuracy, throughput, cost efficiency, and service performance to customers.

This position partners closely with Operations, Inventory, Transportation, Engineering, and IT and leverages predictive analytics, machine learning, and process improvement methodologies to translate complex data into actionable business solutions.

You will have the opportunity to apply data analytics coupled with operational knowledge for a highly automated distribution operation while partnering directly with senior leaders to recommend optimization opportunities, productivity improvements and efficiencies, and enhance customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing and using data to solve complex business challenges, optimizing processes, and delivering measurable business results as well as contributing to leading change, and creating a culture where continuous improvement is part of everyday work.

  • Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity, throughput, inventory accuracy, and facility utilization.
  • Conduct process mapping, workflow analysis, and root cause investigations to eliminate waste and improve execution.
  • Develop and implement operational best practices and standard work.
  • Support labor optimization, slotting strategies, capacity planning, and workflow redesign.
  • Lead end-to-end operational improvement initiatives across receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory functions.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models that improve operational decision-making.
  • Utilize machine learning, statistical analysis, and optimization techniques to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Build analytical tools that improve forecasting, labor planning, volume management, and operational performance.
  • Analyze large datasets from WMS, LMS, transportation systems, automation platforms, and operational databases.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into practical operational recommendations.
  • Design and maintain executive dashboards that measure productivity, cost, service, quality, and capacity performance.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and identify performance gaps across facilities.
  • Develop automated reporting and data visualization tools that provide actionable operational insights.
  • Quantify financial impact and ROI of improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering and Technology teams to evaluate automation opportunities.
  • Support implementation of AI-driven operational tools, warehouse automation systems, and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams focused on network optimization and cost reduction.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations and measurable business cases and present those to senior leadership.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution operations, logistics analytics, or operational consulting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labor management, and fulfillment processes
  • Multi-site distribution center or fulfillment network experience.
  • Experience developing machine learning, optimization, simulation, or forecasting models.
  • Ability to apply data science techniques in operational environments.
  • Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and automation technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages.
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex data findings clearly and effectively to a variety of cross-functional stakeholders.
