Job Description
PURPOSE:
To oversee the operation of Machine Maintenance machinery, equipment, repairmen, and provide technical expertise on projects and daily operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and monitor Kronos.
- Check on Machine Maintenance machinery status (i.e. running or down).
- Consult Group Leaders on projects. Review daily efficiency reports and consult with Group Leaders on daily efficiencies and downtime.
- Work on problem Machine Maintenance machines and equipment.
- Work on special projects. Address personnel problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Machine Maintenance machinery and equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring all standards of ISO and SQF are being met.
- Responsible for the day-to-day activities in the Machine Maintenance department.
TRAINING:
Training for this position requires a thorough knowledge of the above responsibilities. Training will be provided by qualified personnel who have an understanding of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge on Machine Maintenance machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Dependable and motivated.
- Good past work experience.
- High school diploma / GED Equivalent.
- Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns on fork trucks.
- Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other coworkers in other areas of the complex.
- Stereoscopic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12-point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
- Able to complete an "Ishihara color vision test".
- Able to work at heights. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
