Steel Tool & Engineering is hiring a full-time Machine Maintenance Tech in Michigan. In this role, you will help keep our equipment and facilities running smoothly. We offer this position $20 - $24/hour. Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

WHAT WILL YOU DO EVERY DAY AS A MACHINE MAINTENANCE TECH?
As a Machine Maintenance Tech, you will spend your day diagnosing and repairing production assembly systems, press systems, hydraulic, electrical, CNC, and pneumatic equipment. You will inspect machines, plan repairs using blueprints or equipment manuals, and perform general maintenance. This includes preventative maintenance, cleaning or changing filters, topping off fluids, repairing drywall, painting, fixing doors and fixtures, and changing lights, outlets, and switches. You will also clean up your work area, assist the Lead Technician when needed, and enter minor maintenance data into our computer systems.
WHEN WILL YOU WORK?
This is a full-time position.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE OUR MACHINE MAINTENANCE TECH?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year(s) of experience with CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, or EDMs
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of control I/O cards, axis motors, spindles, encoders, and press hydraulics
- Mechanical experience in machine tool alignment, installing linear guides, ball screws, saddles, and slides, and laser positioning adjustments
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building repairs
- Ability to use hand or power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and man lifts (on-the-job training provided if necessary)
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl into awkward spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work with oils, solvents, minor dust, as well as wear all required PPE
Experience with Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Haas controls is a plus.
