Position Summary
We are seeking a Machine Operator - Converting (Spanish-speaking), who is responsible for the setup, operation, and cleanup of converting equipment to produce finished goods that meet quality and production standards. This role supports daily production targets while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality requirements.
We are also seeking a Machine Operator - Extrusion (Spanish-speaking) who is responsible for operating and adjusting extrusion equipment to meet product specifications and production targets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe operations, accurate record-keeping, and consistent product quality.
We work 12-hour shifts (either days or nights, No rotating) on a 2-2-3 schedule, which gives every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Converting
    • Set up and operate converting machines according to job specifications and production schedules
    • Monitor product quality throughout runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain compliance with standards
    • Optimize machine performance to achieve targeted output and minimize downtime
    • Accurately document production data, quality checks, safety observations, and machine operational status
    • Coordinate with helpers to ensure smooth material flow and efficient machine changeovers
    • Cross-train on additional converting equipment to increase team capability and coverage
    • Submit maintenance requests and communicate equipment concerns promptly to supervision
    • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping requirements
    • Assist in training and guiding team members to ensure consistent operational practices
  • Extrusion
    • Perform startup and shutdown procedures for assigned extrusion lines
    • Operate and adjust extruders, haul-offs, saws, dies, heaters, and cooling systems to maintain required product dimensions and quality
    • Monitor machine controls and modify RPM, temperature, and die settings as needed
    • Conduct continuous on-line inspections and verify finished product prior to inventory release
    • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic production records and machine settings
    • Support process optimization efforts to improve output and reduce scrap
    • Assist in training lower-level operators and reinforce standard operating procedures
    • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment in compliance with all policies

Required Qualifications:
  • Converting
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
    • Spanish-speaking required to effectively communicate with team members and support operational coordination on the production floor
    • Ability to read and interpret production documents and work instructions
    • Proficiency in reading a tape measure and performing basic mathematical calculations, including percentages and measurements
    • Demonstrated ability to follow structured processes and resolve routine production issues
  • Extrusion
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Spanish-speaking required to effectively communicate operational instructions and collaborate with production team members
    • Ability to operate extrusion equipment and interpret machine control systems
    • Basic computer proficiency for production data entry
    • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine adjustments and die changes
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physically demanding production tasks

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Converting
    • Experience operating converting or packaging machinery
    • Prior experience serving as a machine helper or in a similar support role
    • Forklift certification or ability to obtain lift truck operator license
