Job description

As a Machine Helper, you'll play a key role in keeping our production lines running smoothly and efficiently. You'll support the Machine Operator with setup, monitoring quality, maintaining pace, and troubleshooting as needed. Your teamwork and attention to detail help ensure our recycled paper is turned into high-quality corrugated board that meets customer expectations.

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) - Must be available for overtime and occasional weekend work as needed

Starting Pay: $17.00/hour - Eligible for pay increases at 90 days and 6 months based on performance and attendance.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Machine Operator with setup and operation of slotting, feeding, and die-cutting equipment
  • Monitor board quality and report defects such as loose liner, warp, or incorrect dimensions
  • Sort product as needed to help maintain machine productivity
  • Work at the pace set by the Machine Operator and support adherence to the production schedule
  • Cross-train on other machines and be willing to move into Operator roles when needed
  • Complete production-related paperwork accurately and on time
  • Submit maintenance requests and proactively care for equipment
  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

What to Expect on the Job

  • You'll be on your feet for most of you shift. This includes standing, walking, bending, kneeling and regularly moving up to 40 pounds
  • You will work near moving mechanical parts and in an environment where noise, vibration, and airborne particles are common
  • The facility is not climate controlled, which means it can be very hot in the summer and cold in the winter
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, protective footwear, and safety glasses must be worn at all times
