Job description

Universal Feed & Machine is a manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial machinery and need machine builders. Multiple positions open for experienced machine builders that can hit the ground running. This is a permanent, full time, day shift, opportunity. If you are looking for a great opportunity this is it! Hiring up to $22/hr

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 yrs experience building heavy duty industrial machinery.
  • Assemble prefabricated metal parts to build heavy duty industrial machinery, move and align sub assemblies and components and install major components.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to ensure proper dimensions of finished product to meet design requirements.
  • Must be able to effectively operate MIG welder, hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, team oriented and a problem solver.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic schematics a plus but NOT REQUIRED
  • Your own tools, reliable transportation and drug screening are required.

Requirements:

  • Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual, and plans machine building operations.
  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
  • Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together, using hand tools, rivet gun, and welding equipment, or arranges for assembly by welder and electrician.
  • Removes high spots and smooths surfaces using files and powered a hand grinder.
