Brand Ownership & Partnership
  • Own the overall health, performance, and strategic direction of an assigned portfolio of luxury brands.
  • Build trusted relationships with vendor partners, serving as their primary business advisor and day-to-day point of contact.
  • Lead assortment planning, business reviews, promotional planning, pricing discussions, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships through thoughtful business recommendations backed by data and market insights.
  • Ensure alignment with 2Modern's merchandising standards, operational requirements, and brand presentation expectations.
  • Merchandising Strategy & Assortment Management
  • Develop curated assortments that reflect customer demand, design leadership, and business performance.
  • Drive assortment optimization through SKU productivity analysis, whitespace identification, lifecycle management, and rationalization initiatives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for expansion, contraction, and new product introductions based on profitability, customer behavior, and market trends.
  • Partner with leadership on new brand launches, seasonal merchandising strategies, and category growth initiatives.
  • Monitor competitive positioning, pricing, and industry trends to maintain 2Modern's premium market position.

Business Performance & Analytics
  • Own brand performance through ongoing analysis of sales, gross profit, margin, return rates, customer experience, inventory considerations, and operational metrics.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations that improve profitability and customer experience.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends, proactively developing strategies to accelerate growth or address underperformance.
  • Support forecasting, promotional planning, and business reviews with data-driven insights.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Site Merchandising, Production, Operations, Trade, Customer Experience, and Leadership to ensure flawless execution across the customer journey.
  • Ensure products launch accurately, are merchandised effectively, and meet 2Modern's standards for content quality, imagery, navigation, and discoverability.
  • Coordinate promotional initiatives, assortment updates, pricing changes, and operational improvements across departments.
  • Help create alignment around merchandising priorities through clear communication and shared business objectives.

Requirements

  • A strong business mindset with experience managing assortment performance, profitability, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to influence merchandising decisions.
  • Experience building collaborative vendor relationships while balancing brand needs with business objectives.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • A refined design sensibility and strong merchandising eye, paired with a disciplined, customer-first approach to assortment planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with Shopify and modern eCommerce merchandising platforms is preferred.
