Our Ideal Pediatric Dental Assistant

YOU! Whether you have experience or are a new student looking for your first opportunity, Lumio has a place for YOU. Our ideal Pediatric Dental Assistant is warm and friendly to patients of all ages, is comfortable being shoulder-to-shoulder with doctors, and delivers exceptional chairside care for our pediatric patients.

A day in the life of a Pediatric Dental Assistant

  • Expose digital diagnostic X-Rays
  • Record clinical findings and treatment information in patient records
  • Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Clean teeth, using dental instruments including toothbrush and prophy cup
  • Apply fluoride varnish, Sealants, and SDF
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Pour, trim, and polish study casts.
  • Assist in consults and treatment of tongue and lip ties on infants and children
  • Assist chairside with nitrous while utilizing behavior guidance techniques
  • Assist chairside during IV Sedation
  • Assist in the hospital for general anesthesia surgery cases
  • Maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule
  • Cement stainless steel crowns, and space maintainers**
  • Fill and finish restorations**
