Role Summary

As a Service Technician, you will inspect, maintain, and repair residential solar energy systems, including roof-related service work and battery storage systems. You will troubleshoot system issues, perform repairs with precision and care, and ensure system performance and safety standards are upheld across every job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve solar system issues, including wiring damage, faulty components, and inverter or microinverter failures

  • Perform roof-related service work, including leak detection, repairs, resealing, flashing upgrades, and waterproofing

  • Complete solar removal and reinstall (R&R) projects for roof repairs or system upgrades

  • Install critter guards and other protective measures against wildlife and environmental damage

  • Replace or repair solar components such as microinverters, optimizers, and modules per manufacturer specifications

  • Install, commission, and troubleshoot solar battery storage systems

  • Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices in compliance with NEC and local regulations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work vehicle

  • Support jobsite operations, including material staging, site prep, and post-job cleanup

  • Document service work using mobile tools and apps

  • Communicate clearly with homeowners during troubleshooting, maintenance, or repair visits

  • Follow NEC and all company safety standards

  • Assist with new system installations and other service tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in solar, roofing, or a related field

  • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing residential solar equipment (preferred)

  • Ability to perform roof-related service work, including leak detection, repairs, resealing, flashing upgrades, and waterproofing

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve field issues efficiently and independently

  • Ability to read and interpret basic plans, manuals, and installation documents (preferred)

  • Proficiency safely handling power and hand tools, ladders, inverters, panels, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials

  • Ability to work on roofs, ladders, attics, and confined spaces in all weather conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to use mobile devices for documentation

  • Proven track record of reliable attendance

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Must pass background check and drug screening
