Inside Sales Associate
Big C Lumber - Fort Wayne, IN
Big C Lumber is growing in Fort Wayne, and we're looking for an Inside Sales Associate to join our team!
We are currently building a brand-new Big C Lumber facility near the US 30 and I-69 interchange, giving you the opportunity to join our team as we expand our presence in the Fort Wayne market. This is an exciting time to become part of Big C Lumber and help us build something new in the community!
This is a full-time, day-shift position with benefits. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and being part of a collaborative team.
What You'll Do:
  • Assist professional builders, remodelers, and do-it-yourself customers with building material sales
  • Assist customers with product selection, questions, and special orders
  • Prepare and assist with customer quotes
  • Coordinate and schedule deliveries
  • Maintain accurate shelf tags and inventory levels
  • Process cash and credit card transactions
  • Pull and prepare store items for customer deliveries
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the store and sales counter
  • Complete special assignments and projects as directed by the General Manager
What We're Looking For:
  • Building material knowledge or experience preferred
  • Knowledge of post-frame construction is a plus, but not required
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to accurately handle cash, make change, and process credit card transactions
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also being a dependable team member
  • Willingness and ability to learn Big C Lumber's products, processes, and in-house software
