Job description

OBJECTIVE: 

Check in all store-stocked hardware products, maintain stock levels and neatness in the store, maintain receiving room, customer service in store, and back-up staff as needed. Punctuality, good attendance, and precise organizational skills are essential to this position. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Check in orders and mark any discrepancies on the packing slip - turn it in to Receiving Admin
  • Put away all store-stocked hardware products
  • Pull back stock to fill empty bins & hooks
  • Clean and face store shelves
  • Check for missing or incorrect price tags and back stock tags
  • Cycle count as assigned 
  • Occasional use of forklift as necessary to move material
  • Ensure that all overstock is neatly organized in the correct location and labeled with SKU and description
  • Maintain a clean work area by picking up trash and sweeping daily
  • Put up price tags as assigned
  • Checking in and updating of special orders
  • Assist with merchandising of new product
  • Back up hardware puller as needed
  • Back up warehouse staff as needed
  • Unload vendor trucks as assigned
  • Establish a consistent and efficient work routine to complete all daily tasks

 SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess positive interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments
  • Able to work in a cooperative manner as part of a team 
  • Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health/safety and company policies and procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sit/stand for 8 hours per day
  • Use hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
  • Must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs. occasionally; must be able to push/pull 80 lbs. 
  • Horizontal reaching with arms and hands is required; occasionally must climb or balance
  • All mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing)
  • Range of motion and physical activity occurring regularly throughout work day
