To thrive as a Lumber Stacker, you need physical strength, attention to detail, and basic math skills, often with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools like forklifts, pallet jacks, and safety equipment is typically required, along with adherence to workplace safety protocols. Reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are crucial soft skills that set top performers apart. To ensure safety, workers are trained to use proper lifting techniques, wear protective gear such as gloves and steel-toed boots, and follow established protocols to prevent injuries. Teamwork is essential, as stackers frequently coordinate with machine operators and forklift drivers to keep the workflow efficient and safe.
