Plant Manager โ€“ Production and Assembly (La Porte, TX)Position Overview

Required Experience: 2+ years in automated manufacturing

Weโ€™re seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee and continuously improve production and assembly operations at our fully automated CAPE facility in La Porte. Reporting tothe General Manager, this role will drive output, quality, safety, and equipment reliability, ensuring seamless operation of CAPE systems and material flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Champion OSHA and company safety protocols; lead incident investigations and safety initiatives.
  • Production Leadership: Manage shift planning, seamless changeovers, and performance on CAPE lines.
  • Automation Performance: Collaborate with Maintenance to optimize uptime using metrics like OEE, MTBF, and MTTR.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce strict specification adherence; oversee in-process checks and corrective actions.
  • Team Development: Lead shift supervisors and operators; build operator expertise in CAPE systems.
  • Material Flow Oversight: Ensure timely staging of pre-cut components and finished pallets;work with Shipping.
  • Process Improvement:Implement 5S and lean practices; lead continuous improvement events for productivity gains.
  • KPI Management: Own production KPIs such as throughput, first-pass yield, scrap rate, and schedule adherence and report with actionable insights.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years in automated manufacturing leadership โ€“ preferably with robotic (FANUC) systems.
  • Demonstrated track record in boosting uptime, throughput, and quality in highly automated environments.
  • Strong safety leadership, data-based decision-making, and team development experience.
  • Knowledge ofCMMS platforms and familiarity with PLC/HMI equipment operation.
  • Proficiency with electrical systems and wiring, supporting effective troubleshooting and collaboration with maintenance teams for automation performance.
