Ascend Staffing is hiring Sander Stackers and Green Chain Workers for a busy lumber manufacturing facility in Chehalis, WA.

Schedule
  • Monday-Saturday

  • 5:00 AM 3:30 PM

  • May work until 5:00 PM based on production needs

  • Two mandatory Saturdays each month

  • Must be available for overtime and weekends as needed


Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Pull green lumber from conveyors

  • Stack lumber according to grade and size

  • Operate as a Sander Stacker in the production line

  • Identify lumber defects and imperfections

  • Remove damaged or unusable boards

  • Trim or sort lumber based on quality standards

  • Maximize lumber recovery and production yield

  • Move materials throughout the mill

  • Maintain production speed and quality standards

  • Read and use a tape measure accurately

  • Follow production schedules and supervisor instructions

  • Keep work areas clean and organized

  • Perform general labor throughout the mill

  • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures

  • Wear required PPE at all times

  • Assist with other production duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Previous mill or lumber manufacturing experience required

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure

  • Basic math and measurement skills

  • Ability to identify lumber grades and defects

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, and stack lumber

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environments

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid Driver's License required

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, including THC


Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift 50 lbs. or more

  • Repetitive lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying

  • Stand and walk for the entire shift

  • Work in a fast-paced production environment

  • Comfortable working around industrial machinery
