Job description

About the Role

To support U.S. Urology by assisting the physician/APP and/or RN as well as providing professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for the Company Vision "To be a prominent urology practice with a reputation for delivering excellent and effective care in all urologic modalities. By providing full-service urology to the patients and communities we serve, there will be greater satisfaction as well as patient and physician loyalty which will allow continued success and growth."

What You'll Be Doing

  • Receives and completes tasks for a set of designated physicians/APPs

  • May be required to assist with the tasks of fellow associates according to business needs

  • Coordinate and provide oversight to incoming medical reports and the follow up to such reports with physician/APP and patient

  • Record clear and concise notes regarding patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatments with in electronic medical records

  • Urgent matters are to be handled the same day via call, email or a text may be warranted in addition to the normal EMR documentation

  • Follows standards of an average of 130-150 tasks per day

  • Instruct patient regarding medications and treatment instruction, collection of samples and tests, and arranges for patient testing, procedures and admissions.

  • Educate patient on possible lifestyle changes that may be necessary to promote optimal health

  • Functions as patient advocate within the medical system.

  • Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations

  • May perform general nursing duties including assisting physician with procedures, performing in office tests, rooming patients, administering medications, assisting physician with grief situation (counseling and reassuring patients and families)

  • Interview patients for drug habits to comply with Medicaid and CareSource requirements

  • Coordinate medical services through pre-authorization and/or pre-certification procedures required by third party carriers for both office and outpatient and inpatient services

  • Willing to travel to other locations for business needs

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality

  • Performs related work as required

What We Expect from You

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Two years of professional nursing experience in a medical practice setting, in a Urology practice, clinic or hospital-based health center preferred.

  • Possession of an LPN license

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Electronic Medical Records Experience

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
