Job description

Job Summary:
BigRio is a Boston-based, remote-first technology consulting firm specializing in advanced data and software solutions. They are seeking an experienced Technical Looker Consultant with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support analytics and reporting initiatives for a leading healthcare company.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and deploy Looker dashboards, data models, and visualizations for healthcare data analytics.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate healthcare domain requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Optimize Looker data models and explore LookML for performance and maintainability.
• Integrate Looker with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory standards in data handling and reporting.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and clinicians to deliver actionable insights from clinical, operational, and financial healthcare data.
• Provide end-user training and support for Looker dashboards and reporting.
• Troubleshoot performance and data quality issues in Looker and GCP environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in BI/Analytics with at least 2+ years of Looker development.
• Proven expertise with LookML and Looker administration.
• Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
• Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning on large healthcare datasets.
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and healthcare data governance.
• Strong communication skills to work with clinical and business stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of FHIR/HL7 data models, healthcare interoperability standards.
• Experience with HIPAA-compliant data handling.
• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Experience with data visualization best practices in healthcare reporting.
