Position: Sr. Looker Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long Term

Client is looking to Implement chatGPT on the looker platform .
Responsibilities / Core Job Functions:
• Build LookML data models on top of consumption layer
• Design new LookML dimensions or measures within given requirements
• Incorporating Looker/LookML solutions into an Angular environment
• Define / build new reporting infrastructure / tables per business need (Derived Tables)
• Analyze data models and business requirements to create LookML objects, including determination of source objects and how to join views into Explores
• Build Explores for users to answer business questions within given requirements
• Support reporting infrastructure and deployment pipeline (Looker, GitHub, Validate Pull Request Process)
• Implement version control based on given requirements, including determination of appropriate setup for Git branches (Shared Branches, Pull from Remote Production)
• Modify existing project structure to account for new reporting needs
• Construct SQL statements to use with new dimensions and measures
• Troubleshoot / resolve errors in existing data models and explores
• Implement data security / permissions for users (Access Filters, Field & Row Level)
• Optimize queries / reports for performance, including which solution to use based on performance implications (Explores, Merged Results, Derived Tables)
• Implement persistent derived tables / caching policies; appropriate caching settings based on update frequency (Hourly, Weekly, ETL completion)
• Maintain health of LookML projects, ensuring existing contents are working (Content Validator, Audit, Search for Errors, Unit Testing)
• Utilize LookML parameters to increase end user experience
• Train and mentor junior level programmers on Looker components
