About the Team:
The Marketing Performance team is in Marketing. The team is tasked with providing insights on factors that will help drive growth in the business by analyzing and identifying opportunities to enhance customer identification, engagement, pipeline and eventually revenue.
Responsibilities:
As the Sr. Marketing Analyst, your core responsibility is to support Marketing teams by conducting analyses, providing insights and identifying operational enhancements that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs through the marketing funnel. You will partner with marketing, sales, finance, operations, and data teams to drive business growth through data-driven insights. This role is responsible for analyzing marketing performance across the customer journey - from acquisition to retention - and translating complex data into actionable recommendations that improve pipeline, conversion, customer acquisition cost, and revenue performance.
This position combines strategic thinking, analytical rigor, business storytelling, and operational execution. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in marketing analytics and can influence decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels.
  • Analytics skills: Independently work on analytical projects involving large amounts of data, statistical modeling / machine learning. Performs exploratory data analyses using internal and 3rd party data sources. Builds and modifies dashboards in Salesforce, Tableau and Looker Studio.
  • AI-Enabled Marketing Analytics: Leverage AI and machine learning tools to accelerate marketing analysis, insight generation, and decision support. Use generative AI to summarize performance trends, identify anomalies, and automate recurring analytical tasks. Partner with marketing operations and data teams to evaluate AI-driven optimization opportunities across campaigns, targeting, and customer journeys
  • Problem-solving skills: Perform and share analyses to guide decision making and participate in and support interactions within Medidata to collect business requirements and drive analysis buy-in; develop alternative methods of analyzing marketing performance and opportunities for new campaign approaches and techniques
  • Project management: Coordinate and assist in the analysis design, optimize existing analytical process to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Teamwork skills: Work across an interdisciplinary team to prioritize and coordinate tasks, monitor progress and issues, and facilitate team meetings

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards and reports in Salesforce, Tableau and Looker Studio
  • Demonstrated ability to write code in Python, as well as SQL, R or SAS. Also knowledgeable in Google Analytics and capability to build dashboards in Looker Studio.
  • Prior experience with life science or technology industries is a plus but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Analytics, Marketing Operations, Business Planning or related role
  • The minimum education level required (Bachelor's, Master's, etc.): Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • The fields of study: Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields
  • Ability to manage work in teams of widely varying skills and levels
  • Familiarity with analytics concepts such as databases, programming, statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization
  • Deep understanding in the usage of AI tools in performing analyses and providing reports
  • Proven experience building dashboards and reports in Salesforce and Tableau
  • Experience with Python as well as R, SAS or SQL. Also comfortable using Google Analytics.
  • Advanced skills in Google Office Suite as well as the MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position located in New York is $79,500-$106,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Medidata believes that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most and provides benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, family leave, flexible paid time off; and 10 paid holidays per year.
