Job Title: Senior BI Developer with Looker and Qlik 
Location: Basking Ridge, New Jersey (Onsite/Hybrid as required)
 
About the Role:
Tek Hire Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Looker Migration Specialist for our direct client in Basking Ridge, NJ. This role requires a hands-on BI professional with proven experience leading enterprise-scale migrations from Tableau to Google Looker and Qlik.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in LookML development, BigQuery optimization, and BI architecture, along with strong stakeholder communication skills to ensure a seamless transition from legacy BI platforms to scalable, modern analytics solutions.
 
Who You Are
You are a results-driven BI consultant who:
  • Has successfully led end-to-end migrations from Tableau to Google Looker
  • Understands both technical architecture and business reporting logic
  • Can translate complex Tableau dashboards into scalable LookML models
  • Optimizes data models in BigQuery for performance and usability
  • Ensures data accuracy and reporting integrity throughout migration cycles
  • Works confidently with business stakeholders to drive adoption and smooth cutover
At the Consultant level, you are expected to:
  • Independently contribute recommendations and solution strategies
  • Lead individual workstreams and manage migration deliverables
  • Develop documentation, best practices, and reusable intellectual capital
  • Support proposal development and client presentations when needed
  • Embrace client engagement values and professional excellence
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute end-to-end migrations from Tableau to Google Looker and Qlik
  • Analyze existing Tableau dashboards, calculations, and data sources
  • Rebuild dashboards using LookML models and Explores
  • Redesign and optimize data models within Google BigQuery
  • Collaborate with data engineers to align datasets with reporting requirements
  • Ensure data validation, reconciliation, and performance optimization
  • Drive stakeholder testing, UAT, and business sign-off
  • Document architecture, migration processes, and best practices
  • Break down business problems and design scalable analytics solutions
  • Develop implementation roadmaps and business cases
  • Identify additional value opportunities within client environments
  • Support proposal preparation and client presentations
Required Qualifications:
  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in BI or Data Engineering
  • Strong Tableau development experience
  • Proven BI migration experience:
    • Tableau to Google Looker
    • Tableau to Qlik
  • Deep expertise in LookML development and Looker Solution Architecture
  • Strong experience with Google BigQuery
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience validating large-scale data transformations
  • Experience working in GCP-based analytics environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication and consulting skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Prior consulting experience in agile environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable industries
  • GCP certification or other cloud certifications
  • Proven track record of generating new business within existing accounts
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
