This roleis responsible foroperating buses over specified routes, ensuring safe,timely, and courteous service to passengers. The Bus Driverassistspassengers as needed,maintainspassenger comfort, and ensures compliance with traffic and safety regulations. The position may also include light vehicle maintenance, baggage handling, and operation of other vehicles asrequired.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drive bus to transport trainees, government, and/or military personnel.

  • Drive vehicles from individual or central loading areas to training locations, job sites, or other destinations according to the assigned schedule.

  • Drives large passenger buses for long and short hauls to transport personnel throughout the base and on public roads and highways.

  • Mayassistdisabled passengers in or out of the vehicle.

  • Perform cargo delivery as assigned.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

  • Ensure thatthe equipmentis fully operational before each shift.

  • Clean the vehicle and service the vehicle with fuel.

  • Keepaccuratetrip logs.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

  • Operate other vehicles and equipment asrequired.

  • Perform vehicle licensing examiner functions asrequired.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED isrequired.

  • 0-3 years' experience in vehicle operations.

  • CDL A or B with passengerendorsementrequired.Hazmat/Tanker/Additional endorsementspreferred.

  • Mustpossessa valid US Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card. Must have current or be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Card) beforehire.
