Job description

Link-Belt Cranes is a global leader in the design, manufacture and sales of mobile cranes. Founded over 150 years ago, with corporate headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, join an organization that understands its greatest resource is our people and they are what makes the difference.
Currently we have a Logistics Scheduler role open. As the Logistics Scheduler, one will coordinate with Manufacturing and Marketing/Sales to insure completion of sales orders to meet monthly shipping schedule. Will oversee the completion of component parts; expedite shortages and assembly items, while coordinating between the Transportation Manager and the Machine Shipping department regarding daily shipping schedules and tasks that are needed to be completed.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain and/or update outbound transportation quotes for all crane models. Include all of the various specifications to insure accuracy of the number of loads required and with specific trailer requirements.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes for machines and attachments to meet sales order requirements and shipping deadlines.
  • Provide inbound (heavy hauler) carrier quotes to marketing/sales and distribution network.
  • Continuous improvement of load consolidation to provide cost savings to customers.
  • Improve and maintain packing list(s) of product at the time of shipment.
  • Coordinate daily workload requirements with Transportation Manager and machine shipping team leads to meet the daily and future shipping schedules, as well as, parts orders requiring flats/step deck equipment.
  • Responsible for domestic inbound shipments for materials and parts. Insure carriers are cost effective and provide best transit times to meet production requirements and or promised dates.
  • Develop a professional relation with carriers of open trailers with flats, steps, and heavy haulers to insure the trailers meet our requirements.
  • Responsible for proper loading of machines/attachments to ensure the load will travel safely and without damage.
  • Monitor boom attachment loading to determine the best practices to maximize the load plans to hold truck loads to a minimum to drive transportation costs down

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of methods/modes of transportation with heavy haul machine shipping
  • Knowledge of inventory systems
  • Working knowledge of logistics, complying with DOT and customs regulations
  • Knowledge of customs clearance procedures, trade requirements and compliance
  • ISO9001 procedures as it pertains to job function and responsibilities
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and team concepts
  • Practical knowledge of crane functions and workings related to transportation requirements and regulations.

General qualifications for this role:
  • High School Diploma, GED
  • Four year college degree, preferred in Logistics or Business
  • Minimum of 1 year with a BS degree or minimum of 5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree
