Job Summary

The Ops & Logistics Technician, Level 2 supports both the Operations and Production Control Manager in executing logistics tasks, receiving, material handling, and storage of aerospace components across the Reno and Lovelock facilities. Responsibilities encompass facility operations and maintenance support (including tooling and test equipment maintenance and repair), Ammunition & Energetics (A&E) handling, property management, quality support, and shipping and receiving.

This role focuses on programs in the production phase of the product life cycle and relies on experience and sound judgment to organize, plan, and accomplish program and operations objectives within the constraints of prescribed work instructions and travelers-on schedule. The Ops & Logistics Technician, Level 2 will also assist in the development and creation of standard operations policies and procedures, and actively support continuous improvement initiatives across Reno Facility Operations.

Responsibilities

Performance of the Ops & Logistics Technician, Level 2 role is inclusive of the tasks identified below, with minimal supervision.

• Conduct inspections of in-process and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Perform receiving, material handling, and storage of aerospace hardware in accordance with applicable work instructions and quality requirements.
• Execute shipping and receiving activities, including documentation, labeling, packaging, and shipment tracking.
• Support Ammunition & Energetics (A&E) handling, storage, and transport in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with property management activities, maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting audits and physical counts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records using company systems (e.g., travelers, checklists, shop floor control systems, shipping and property documentation).
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; perform typical warehouse and logistics tasks including pallet packing and driving product between facilities.
• Kit parts and materials to traveler and work order requirements, ensuring accurate counts, correct configurations, and proper documentation prior to issuance.
• Issue kitted materials to the production floor in accordance with work orders and build schedules; coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.
• Support facility operations and maintenance, including tooling and test equipment maintenance and repair.
• Follow all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and environmental regulations; work in controlled areas when required.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operations policies and procedures.
• Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
• May require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing required PPE.
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet production schedules.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or precision assembly manufacturing.
• Experience handling hardware in accordance with specific work instructions and recording progress in a disciplined and consistent manner.
• Experience partnering with program managers, schedulers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and supply chain/operations teams to meet program objectives.

Education

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate degree or vocational training in manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or mechanical technology.

Required

• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, travelers, and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Proven critical thinking ability: ability to recognize potential problems and seek supervisory direction prior to placing hardware at risk.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or shop floor control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

• Prior experience working in a high-reliability or safety-critical manufacturing environment (aerospace, defense, or propulsion).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent shop floor systems).
• Prior experience with government inventory reporting and transaction systems such as WAWF (Wide Area WorkFlow) or PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment); applicable to candidates transitioning from military S4/supply roles or defense contractor inventory positions.
• Ability to transport energetic materials over the road (CDL preferred).
• Familiarity with A&E handling protocols and safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AS9100, DCMA, and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, including Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
• Holds a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Energetic material safety training or certification.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Other Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
• Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time between Reno and Lovelock facilities.
• Physical requirements: standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, use of required PPE

The good faith base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $95,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
