Job Overview:
The Logistics Pricing Analyst is central to providing analytical and decision support to both senior financial and executive operational management teams. The role involves developing, interpreting, and implementing financial planning, analysis, and control concepts. As a key contributor to the business, the Logistics Pricing Analyst will have a significant impact on major business decisions through analytical support, offering a comprehensive view of the business with a strong focus on operations.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Analyze transportation and drayage data to support pricing, bids, and RFI/RFP responses.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models for truckload (TL), dedicated fleets, and drayage operations to support customer bids, RFPs, and ad hoc pricing requests.
  • Analyze cost drivers including linehaul, fuel, accessorials, chassis, port fees, and driver-related expenses to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Track key truckload and drayage metrics including moves, miles, turns, dwell time, utilization, service, and cost per load.
  • Perform lane, customer, profitability, and variance analysis to identify trends and margin opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations, data analyst, carrier procurement, and finance teams to validate assumptions and ensure alignment with network capabilities and cost structures.
  • Build scalable truckload and drayage pricing tools (Excel, SQL, Python, or BI tools) to standardize rate calculations and improve turnaround time.
  • Evaluate drayage market dynamics with operations (port congestion, dwell times, chassis availability, rail ramps) and incorporate impacts into pricing strategies.
  • Maintain pricing templates, bid files, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in finance and/or logistics roles.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in cost-modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align pricing strategies with broader business objectives.

Physical Demands:
  • Extended Sitting: Primarily desk-based with prolonged computer use.
  • Computer Use: Frequent operation of computers and office equipment, requiring manual dexterity.
  • Eye Strain and Repetitive Motion: Risk from continuous screen use and repetitive tasks like typing.
  • Office Navigation: Light walking and standing for meetings and tasks within the office.
  • Light Lifting: Occasional handling of objects up to 20 pounds.
