How you'll make an impact:
MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Logistics Clerk who consider themselves problem-solvers and excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As Logistics Clerk in the Warehouse Department, you will be responsible for being the primary point of contact for carriers, customer service, and internal operations teams to ensure products are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with customer requirements. This position spends the workday coordinating freight and managing shipping documentation.

What will you do in this role?
  • Coordinate outbound shipments and schedule transportation with approved carriers.
  • Communicate with trucking companies, freight brokers, and customers regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, bills of lading, shipping records, and freight paperwork.
  • Monitor daily shipping schedules and prioritize shipments to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
  • Enter and maintain shipping information within company ERP and transportation systems.
  • Troubleshoot transportation issues, shipment delays, and freight discrepancies.
  • Schedule return freight and special transportation requests.
  • Notify customers regarding shipment status, will-call orders, and delivery updates.
  • Track and verify shipment information and carrier performance.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports as requested.
  • Assist with inventory and shipping audits as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, transportation coordination, customer service, or administrative support.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of shipping documents including Bills of Lading (BOLs), freight invoices, and carrier documentation.

The physical requirements and work environment:
Physical Demands
  • Lifting/Carrying: May have to lift or move materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Sit/Stand: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • Visual/Manual Requirements: Ability to measure materials, understand weight and size measurements, and perform quality checks.

Environmental Conditions
  • Temperature: Primarily office-based within a manufacturing environment.
  • Noise Level: Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided.
  • Safety Gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves may be required when entering operational areas.
  • Other Factors: Occasional exposure to dust, ink, or chemicals used in production.

Schedule & Work Hours
  • Full-time position; standard schedule is 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
