Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is standard, next-day ground delivery. Headquartered in St. Cloud, MN, we employ over 1,800 team members across the Midwest and continue to grow while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, and reliability.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Assistant Manager will support daily warehouse operations and staff in the day-to-day activities to ensure timely, safe and efficient operations.

Hours and Wages

  • Available Shifts:
    • Monday - Friday 1:00PM start
    • Monday - Friday 5:00PM start
    • Monday - Friday 11:00PM start
  • May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs
  • Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
  • Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
  • Starting wage: $26.00- 30.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support salaried managers with day-to-day warehouse and operations
  • Perform hands-on warehouse and operational tasks during peak periods and provide route coverage as needed.
  • Support the tracking, preparation, and maintenance of department reports
  • Help promote and support compliance with safety, DOT, and company policies
  • Monitor warehouse activity, attendance, and productivity; report concerns or trends to management
  • Support trailer cuts and freight flow to ensure timely branch deliveries
  • Work alongside warehouse leadership to help resolve employee issues and escalate concerns as appropriately
  • Participate in weekly meetings
  • Support training activities, onboarding, and job shadowing as directed
  • Assistant in parking and fueling the vehicles
  • May serve as a lead or point of contact for employees during assigned shifts when management is unavailable
  • Travel may be required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse staff, drivers, and operations leadership
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of transportation, warehouse, and DOT regulations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Must hold a valid CDL Class A license or successfully complete a company-paid CDL training program within 90 days of employment
  • Prior experience in transportation, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred
  • 1+ years of leadership experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable foods and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
